Michael T. Rhodes, Jr., PE
Owner & Principle Engineer
Mike attended the University of Florida earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2003, and worked as a drafter/designer while in school.
He is the founder and president of The Salty Lab with over 25 years of experience, ranging from high-end residential condominiums, commercial buildings, municipal wastewater treatment facilities, government, educational, health care, and industrial projects.
He has worked on projects across the country, spanning from Florida to Colorado, including electrical, instrumentation and controls, and fire alarm disciplines.
With knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems, Mike brings a realistic perspective to construction that allows him to foresee potential interdisciplinary conflicts and help provide solutions to keep projects moving forward.
Mike has an NCEES record and currently holds engineering licenses in Florida and Alabama.

Hudson T. Rhodes
Chief Support Officer
He came into Mike's life in 2016, and the basis for the name of the company.
He started his search and rescue career as an area search dog for local volunteer search & rescue organizations, earning NOCSAR and NASAR certifications.
He now enjoys the retired life hanging out in the office or shop, and is quite frequently found by Mike's side.
He provides a friendly greeting to everyone at the office.
Regardless of how the day is going, he reminds us to take a breath and enjoy the moment.
Katie J. Rhodes
Administrative Support
She attended the University of West Florida earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.
She is the administrative support for The Salty Lab and brings a special charisma to the office to help balance the engineers’ personalities within the workplace, to make it stay light-hearted while prioritizing client deadlines.
Her experience in the legal field allows her to work with a variety of people and help guide them in the right direction to resolve problems.
She is a valued member contributing to the company’s reputation.
Keelin J. Rhodes

She is currently enrolled in high school working on her diploma.
She participates in colorguard, winterguard, competitive cheerleading, and is an active participant in her church youth group.
She consistently makes the A or A/B honor roll.
She ensures projects get hand delivered on time with a smile and professionalism.

Mike and Steve worked on various projects together since 2003 when they both worked at the same consulting engineering firm. Steve makes claim that he even helped train Mike during his early engineering days.
